MAT Instructor Course

MAT 1 – Introduction to Pilates and Beginning/Intermediate Exercises
(16 hours + 14 hours practise)

Recommendation for participants: 1 year experience teaching movement
or 20 Pilates Mat classes

MAT 2 – Intermediate/Advanced Exercises (16 hours + 14 hours practise)

Prerequisities: MAT 1

Requirements for MAT Instructor Certificate of Completion:

  • MAT 1 and MAT 2 - Course work, written and practical tests
  • 20 Pilates Mat personal sessions
  • observation hours ..... 25
  • student teaching hours ..... 45
  • final written and practical test
  • Anatomy - Course work and written test (Students with adequate education can waive this requirement.)

Total hours for completion of Mat program ..... 150 hours (not including anatomy)
